Pasadena's ideal location provides many benefits for its citizens.  A major advantage is the convenient access to other Southern California communities.  Located in the center of the San Gabriel Valley & part of Los Angeles County, Pasadena is nestled at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains.  Commuters can be in the center of Downtown L.A. in only 15 minutes & at the beach within 45 minutes.  Pasadena was born in 1873.  The community was founded by Indiana settlers seeking Southern California's milder, warmer climate.  The  "Indiana Colony" failed because of financial misfortunes.  However, the settlers immediately redirected their efforts.  They purchased 1,500 acres, subdivided them into 100 lots and formed the San Gabriel Orange Grove Association.

Today, Pasadena is a major economic, cultural, residential & recreational center.  it has a robust business life and a population of nearly 134,000.  It is home to the world famous Tournament of Roses Parade, Rose Bowl, Cal Tech, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the City Center, Old Town and much more.  What is in store for Pasadena's future?  Pasadena, during it's second century, continues to grow with even greater opportunities ahead.  There is economic growth to look forward to along with excellent quality of life for it's residents.
